Microneedling
About Microneedling
Microneedling is the first microneedling device cleared by the FDA for ages 22 and up. Microneedling contains many very small needles within a cartridge that, when applied to the skin, creates controlled micro-injuries that stimulate the body’s natural healing process. The effect is remodeling of scar tissue over time.
By design, Microneedling has a patent pending, single use cartridge that is built around safety. There is also a BioSheath that acts as a barrier to prevent cross contamination.
Benefits of Microneedling
Microneedling is used to reduce the appearance of scarring, particularly acne scars and may even out skin texture and tone. It can be effective for women and men with skin tones ranging from light to dark. Typically, 3-6 treatments 4-6 weeks apart are required depending on the desired result.
PRP (Platelet-Rich-Plasma) can be added to a Microneedling treatment to enhance the skin regenerative process. See the PRP section for more details.
After Microneedling Treatment
After Microneedling treatment, the skin will appear pink to red, similar to a mild to moderate sunburn. Other responses may include dryness, flaking, tightness, itching, peeling, tenderness and burning. Red dots may appear in certain areas treated. These responses resolve over time.
